Moxibustion (艾灸)

Moxibustion is a therapy which consists of burning dried plant called “moxa” or mugwort near the surface of the skin. The intention is to warm and invigorate the flow of “Qi” and blood in the body and dispel certain pathogenic influences and promote vitality and health. According to traditional chinese medicine, mugwort contains zinc, selenium, manganese and iron. It has anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-cancer, anti-aging properties. Moxibustion helps in expelling cold, dampness and wind in the body, relieves pain due to injury or arthritis, regulates mensturation, relieves dysmenorrhea and promotes fertility.
